About AI for Vietnam

AI for Vietnam (AIV) is a U.S.-registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization founded by Vietnamese professionals from the world’s leading technology corporations and prestigious academic institutions. We serve as a bridge between global AI advancements and Vietnam’s growing tech ecosystem, uniting a global network of over Vietnamese experts across the globe to accelerate the nation’s technological progress.

We operate at a unique historic pivot where Vietnam has the opportunity to rise as a creator—not just a follower—in the AI era. Our work is fueled by a global Vietnamese AI talent pool, a domestic workforce with a strong technical foundation, and an eager mindset to innovate.

Our mission is to meet the surging cross-domain demand for AI by:

  • Building open, high-quality Vietnamese datasets and benchmarks that span across hundreds of topics and preserve our cultural nuance.
  • Developing AI solutions rooted in open innovation and community collaboration.
  • Providing open access to AI knowledge and tools for everyone – from students to national organizations.

At AIV, we believe that AI is more than a technological race; it is a cultural mission. We empower the nation to leapfrog traditional development stages, ensuring that AI reflects Vietnamese language, knowledge, culture, and values while contributing to Vietnam’s transformation into a global center of AI excellence.

Role Overview

We are looking for a Project Management Officer to support our growing portfolio of initiatives. You’ll work closely with the Head of Operations and PMO Leads to ensure smooth project execution, effective coordination, and operational excellence.

  • Act as the central point of contact for different teams and partners, making sure everyone is aligned and following through on their tasks as assigned.
  • Keep projects organized by setting meeting agendas, capturing key decisions, and managing the digital files and tools the team uses daily.
  • Support execution and track deliverables to meet agreed milestones
  • Maintain clear tracking systems and status reports to keep other teams informed of the project timelines and progress.

Qualifications

  • A motivated student or recent graduate with a natural talent for managing group projects, preferably someone who has formally or informally led a student club, event, hackathon, or team project
  • Excellent communication in English & Vietnamese, with the ability to communicate ideas clearly and professionally.
  • Strong organizational skills to prioritize tasks and attention to detail, and stay calm when managing multiple deadlines at once.
  • Comfortable working across time zones (Vietnam evenings / US mornings are common) and adapting to the fast-changing needs of the organization
  • Adaptable and open-minded, with a growth mindset and genuine interest in developing project management skills.
  • Familiarity with collaboration and documentation tools such as Coda, Slack, or similar platforms.

 Preferred Qualifications

  •  Experience in product, tech, AI, design, or operations.
