AI for Vietnam (AIV) is a U.S.-registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization founded by Vietnamese professionals from the world’s leading technology corporations and prestigious academic institutions. Role Overview
This role reports directly to the Head of Partnerships and collaborates with cross-functional teams. We are seeking a Partnership Associate to drive the growth of our ecosystem by building and managing relationships with our partners and vendors. This is a holistic role designed for a strategic connector who can identify opportunities across the board—ranging from corporate collaborations and innovation hubs to philanthropic foundations and research institutions.
You will serve as a primary ambassador for AIV, translating our technical mission into compelling value propositions for external stakeholders to secure the resources, funding, and alliances necessary for our long-term impact. You will also help with working with cross-functional teams to deliver value to our partners.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and prioritize a diverse pipeline of potential partners, including tech enterprises, research programs, philanthropic foundations, and community organizations.
- Work with our team to develop and finetune pitch materials, grant applications, and partnership proposals in coordination with technical and operations teams to translate project goals into actionable narratives and budgets.
- Serve as the main point of contact for external partners, managing the lifecycle from initial outreach and negotiation to onboarding and long-term stewardship.
- Ensure all external collaborations align with AIV’s mission of open innovation and cultural preservation, facilitating smooth hand-offs between partners and internal program owners.
- Maintain a centralized calendar for submissions, reporting, and renewals while communicating partnership progress, risks, and funding outcomes to the leadership team.
- Execute and support the partnership plan in coordination with internal teams and partners
Qualifications
- Ability to manage multi-stakeholder projects, meet tight deadlines (e.g., grant cycles or contract launches), and work cross-functionally.
- Good writing and storytelling skills, preferably in both Vietnamese and English, and the ability to articulate complex technical concepts with clarity and impact.
- Strategic mindset capable of navigating different sectors (commercial vs. philanthropic) and identifying mutual value in diverse organizational structures.
- Self-directed and proactive, with the ability to work effectively in a remote, global volunteer environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- 1-2 years of experience in partnership, project management, business development, nonprofit fundraising, or strategic alliances.
- Familiarity with the tech ecosystem, AI/Data landscape, or experience doing fundraising or pitching to business partners
